RECOMMENDATION:
The Public Works Subcommittee reviewed Water Tower #2 lighting repairs and recommended
proceeding with EIM to replace lighting to LED heads.

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
Water Tower #2 serving the West Public Water System had logo light failures. Staff worked with an
electrical contractor finding water had entered the fixture heads causing electrical failures and damage
to the ballasts. The equipment is beyond its warranty replacement.
Quotes were received from two contractors to replace the four logo light fixtures from the ceramic
metal halide to an LED style. Staff recommends EIM to complete the repairs with Public Works
Committee support at the March 15th meeting.

PROPOSAL —Water Tower #2 Logo Lighting
Please consider the following proposal for the requested work to replace the lighting at water tower
located at 10200 701' Street. As discussed, below are options for this installation along with pricing. I
have included the email description from supplier for reference of the quoted options 2, 3 and 4. These
options are RAB fixtures. Original is a GE fixture.
Option #1 —Replace Logo Lights with 150W LED Fixtures (original quoted fixture updated)
Scope includes
o Remove and replace existing fixtures with new 150W LED fixtures
Lump sum amount is $4,800.00
Option #2 — Replace Logo Lights with 78W LED Fixtures (RECOMMENDED BY LIGHTING GUY)
- Scope includes
o Remove and replace existing fixtures with new 78W LED fixtures h
- Lump sum amount is $4,200.00
Option #3 — Replace Logo Lights with 26W LED Fixtures (NOT RECOMMEND NST SHOWINGO
REFERENCE)
- Scope includes
o Remove and replace existing fixtures with new 26W LED fixtures
- Lump sum amount is $2,400.00
Option #4 — Replace Logo Lights with 300W LED Fixtures
- Scope includes
o Remove and replace existing fixtures with new 300W LED fixtures
- Lump sum amount is $6,600.00
Adder — Relocate two poles as allowed by site constraints.
- Scope includes
o Remove and relocate two of four existing poles. Poles on SE side of tower to be relocated
to better direct light to logo
- Lump sum adder to the above fixture install amount is $7,200.00
Above figures in that that owner will provide use of a bucket truck and excavator. Please let me know if
