RESOLUTION OF INTENT TO ORGANIZE
SOLID WASTE COLLECTION, PURSUANT
TO MINN. STAT. 115A.94=
CITY OF OTSEGO
FEBRUARY 24, 1992
WHEREAS, the City of Otsego is required by Minnesota
Statutes, Chapter 115A.941, to ensure every resident of the
City has solid waste collection service by August 21, 1992,
and
WHEREAS, the geographic diversity of the City of Otsego makes
the current system of solid waste collection inefficient,
thus increasing costs; and
WHEREAS, the Wright County Designation Plan and operation of
the compost plant will greatly increase the cost of disposal;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council considers that organization or
collection services may mitigate the impact of these
increases; and
WHEREAS, the increased efficiency lowers the environmental
impact of the solid waste collection and disposal process;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that on this Twenty Seventh
Day of January, 1992, the City Council of Otsego declares
it's intent to organize collection of solid waste within the
corporate limits of the City and to prepare and publish such
ordinances and plans as required to carry out this intent as
provided by statute.
Passed and proclaimed by the City Council of Otsego this 24th
day of February, 1992.
