February 14, 2017 Meeting Minutes
Call to Order.
Public Safety Chair Chuck Schauss called the meeting to order at 6:30pm
Roll Call: Mayor Stockamp, Councilmembers: Jason Warehime.
Chuck Schauss, Mark Driste, Tina Driste, Paul Fields, Greg Hubbard, Bill Abderhalden.
Albertville Fire Chief Bullen, ER Fire Chief Cunningham, Wright County Sheriff
ABSENT.- Rogers Fire Chief Feist, Jim Breitbach
1. Approve agenda.
Commissioner M. Driste motioned to approve agenda as written. Seconded by
Commissioner Hubbard. All in favor. Motion carried.
2. Approve meeting minutes.
2.1 January 10, 2017.
Commissioner Schauss noted a correction needs to be made
Old Business: needs correction- old information -noted; will correct & resubmit.
New Business: needs correction- "No New Business"; will correct & resubmit
Commissioner Hubbard motioned to approve minutes as written (Noted correction to be
made). Seconded by Commissioner Schauss. All in favor. Motion carried.
3. Open Forum.

4. Public Safety Police/Fire/Ambulance Updates.
SHERIFF: "business as usual"
ROGERS: absent
ELK RIVER: Jan. MVA vs. kids (three HS students hit, recovering)—Chief Cunningham
commended sheriff and commented on how well everything went that day. CAD system in
vehicles -more accurate. 2017 Fire Academy has started, schedule for the classes handed out,
commission/City Council invited to join a class - if interested let Chief know. New grass truck.
ALBERTVILLE: city meeting discussed signage for townhomes, issue recognized & working
on resolving it. January was busy -36 calls. New "rescue truck" in service, Suburban. Old "rescue
truck" sold. Three new firefighters sworn it & will be attending the ER Fire Academy.
Old Business.
CERT Project: proposal passed. Commission has been given the okay to advertise, see what
community interest we have.
6. New Business.
New member to the commission Deborah Schreiner — she works for Wright County. Deb worked
with Rogers when they set up their CERT team -coordinating and advising. Welcome Deb.
7. City Council Meeting Update.

8. City Council Meeting Assignments.

2.1 February 14, 2017
Commissioner Schauss motioned to approve minutes as written. Seconded by
Commissioner Abderhalden. All in favor. Motion carried.
3. Open Forum.
Jim Breitbach asks about the mention of three proposed FD in Otsego. Mayor & CM Warenhime
reviewed the context of the article in the "Otsego paper." Discussion about the need for Otsego
to have a FD, talked about "sub -stations" and the concept of the "sub -station." A third party
professional will look at the needs.
4. Public Safety Police/Fire/Ambulance Updates.
Albertville: absent
Elk River: Fire Academy going strong. Station study is occurring. New grass rig -waiting arrival.
Roger: slow month. ISO rating finished up.

5. Annual Business. Election of 2017 Public Safety Commission
Chair: Chuck Schauss nominated Mark Driste; Mark Driste nominated Greg Hubbard -
Chuck Schauss 6:1 vote
Vice Chair: Chuck Schauss nominated Mark Driste- vote 7:0
Secretary: Chuck Schauss nominated Tina Driste – vote 7:0
6. Old Business.
CERT discussion: need to advertise -city newsletter, need to discuss @ April 11th mtg. Star paper,
North Wright County, Deb will talk with Crow River paper. Need 15 ppl to get program
rolling—July 11th we will decide to proceed or not based on interest.
7. New Business.
Road Clean -Up Scheduled for Tuesday, May 9th, 2017 short meeting @ 6 pm; clean-up to begin
at 6:30 pm. March 25th fundraiser spaghetti dinner for the three high school students involved in
MVA
