Staff recommends authorizing W -H Electric Coop to install a street light at the intersection of 88th St and
Packard Ave.

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
The intersection of 88th Street and Packard Avenue does not currently have a street light. A resident in the
area has requested that a street light be installed. City ordinance allows for a street light at each
intersection. Staff contacted W -H Electric Coop to determine the cost for installation of a typical street
light for this intersection. The proposed street light will be the typical lantern style street light and be LED
and be located in the SW quadrant of the intersection. The cost for extending power to the street light is
estimated at $2,100. The street light and power will be paid as per our agreement with W -H Electric Coop,
which is the monthly lease rate. Public Works Subcommittee has discussed this item and has
recommended approval.
