CITY OF OTSEGO
COUNTY OF WRIGHT, MINNESOTA
A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN TO INCLUDE LAND
ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF OTSEGO.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OTSEGO DOES HEREBY RESOLVE:
WHEREAS, the parcels described on Exhibit A have been annexed to the City of
Otsego; and,
WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Plan establishes a Sewer Staging Plan and Future
Land Use Plan of the City; and,
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Sewer Staging Plan is to designate areas to which
sanitary sewer is to be made available and future staging of expansion of the sanitary sewer
service districts; and,
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Future Land Use Plan is to designate appropriate
locations for various land use types that may develop over time; and
WHEREAS, the staging of sanitary sewer and future land use for the annexed
parcels are not addressed by the Comprehensive Plan; and,
WHEREAS, the property owners have requested designation of the parcels for future
industrial land use and inclusion within the west sanitary sewer service district; and,
WHEREAS, the annexed parcels abut 1-94 and other properties within he City of
Otsego guided for future industrial land use; and,
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has made a preliminary review to determine that
sanitary sewer and water utilities can be extended to the subject site as part of the trunk
facilities planned as part of the west sanitary sewer service district, and;
WHEREAS, The Planning Report dated 15 November 2007 prepared by the City
Planner, Northwest Associated Consultants, Inc., is incorporated herein.
WHEREAS, The Otsego Planning Commission conducted a public hearing at their
regular meeting on 19 November 2007 to consider the application, preceded by published
and mailed notice; upon review of the application, and other evidence, the public hearing
was closed and the Planning Commission recommended by a 7-0 vote that the City Council
approve the request based on the findings outlined above.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT, the Comprehensive Plan is hereby
amended to guide the parcels described on Exhibit A are for future industrial land uses and
include said parcels within the west sanitary sewer service district.
