RE: Center Point Energy Grant
Background:
In March of this year the City applied to Center Point Energy Community Partnership for
grant monies to purchase gas detectors. Grant requests for matching funds are
considered for the purchase of safety or emergency response equipment and our
request was for the replacement of a Gas Detector used for confined space (manhole)
entry.
Recently the City was notified by Center Point Energy of the approval of our grant
request and was awarded $650 matching funds for the purchase of the gas detector.
Chad Hubbard of Center Point Energy will be present at the June 24, 2013 City Council
meeting to present the monies.
Center Point Energy Community Partnership grant monies also were awarded in 2011
for the purchase of 800 MHz radios to be used for emergency response
communications.
On behalf of City staff and the Otsego community I want to thank Center Point Energy
for their continued support in providing an opportunity to purchase and maintain safety
and emergency response equipment.
