ITEM 3.3C Parks 6.20.2017 MinutesITEM 3_3C OTSEGO PARKS AND RECREATION SCHOOL KNOLL PARK June 20, 2017 6:00 PM Call to Order. Chair Angie Dehn called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM. Roll Call: Chair Angie Dehn; Commissioners: Jim Breitbach, Angela Hilde, Kitty Baltos, Travis Rittenbach, Doug Cassady, and Derrick Stark. Absent: Commissioner Cara Husak. City Council: Mayor Jessica Stockamp and City Council Member Jason Warehime Staff: Ross Demant, Parks and Recreation Director, Nick Jacobs, Park Maintenance and Connie Schwecke, Recreation Administrative Assistant. Others: Wright County Sheriff Community Service Deputy, Brian Johnson, Wright County Sheriff Deputy, Eric Thoule and Elk River Deputy Chief of Operations, Aaron Surratt Open Forum. 2. Consider Agenda Approval. Commissioner Stark motioned to approve the agenda. Seconded by Commissioner Cassady. All in favor. Motion carried. 3. Consider Meeting Minutes. 3.1 May 16, 2017 Regular Meeting Minutes. Commissioner Baltos motioned to approve the regular minutes as written. Seconded by Commissioner Breitbach. All in favor. Motion carried. 4. Unfinished Business. 5. New Business. 5.1 School Knoll Park Discussion. Parks and Recreation Director thanked the Otsego residents for attending the Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting at School Knoll Park and asked the Park and Recreation Commissioners, City Council Members and emergency personnel to introduce themselves. After the introductions, Wright County Sheriff Community Service Deputy, Brian Johnson and Elk River Deputy Chief of Operations, Aaron Surratt discussed with the residents' concerns and issues regarding the neighborhood and School Knoll Park. The following issues were discussed. Vandalism Suspicious activity Inappropriate behavior Traffic speed Bullying Deputy Johnson asked residents to always call 911 and file a report if they see anything suspicious. He stated that the sheriff office relies on the community to help keep neighborhoods safe and with the community's help; unwanted behavior is usually driven out of the neighborhood. 6. Parks and Recreation Director Update. Parks and Recreation Director Demant updated the commissioners on the DNR Grant for Norin Landing, Lefebvre Creek and the summer programs. Mr. Demant also discussed moving the July commission meeting to Beaudry Meadows Park. After discussion, the commissioners agreed to meet at Beaudry Meadows Park (11375 - 77" Street NE) on July 18, 2017 at 6:30pm. 7. City Council Reports. City Council Member Jason Warehime updated the commissioners. 8. Adjourn. Commissioner Stark motioned to adjourn. Seconded by Commissioner Hilde. All in favor. Motion carried. Adjourned at 7:17 P.M.
