07-18-17 PR Minutes ITEM 3.1 OTSEGO PARKS AND RECREATION Beaudry Meadows PARK July 18, 2017 6:30 PM Call to Order. Chair Angie Dehn called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM. Roll Call: Chair Angie Dehn; Commissioners: Jim Breitbach, Angela Hilde, Kitty Baltos, Travis Rittenbach, Doug Cassady, Cara Husak, and Derrick Stark. City Council: Mayor Jessica Stockamp Staff: Ross Demant, Parks and Recreation Director, Nick Jacobs, Park Maintenance, Kurt Neidermeier, Utility Manager, and Connie Schwecke, Recreation Administrative Assistant. Others: Wright County Sheriff Deputy, Eric Thole 1. Open Forum. 2. Consider Agenda Approval. Commissioner Hilde motioned to approve the agenda. Seconded by Commissioner Breitbach. All in favor. Motion carried. 3. Consider Meeting Minutes. 3.1 June 20, 2017 Regular Meeting Minutes. Commissioner Stark motioned to approve the regular minutes as written. Seconded by Commissioner Baltos. All in favor. Motion carried. 4. Unfinished Business. 5. New Business. 5.1 Beaudry Meadows Park Discussion. Parks and Recreation Director Demant thanked everyone for attending the Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting at Beaudry Meadows Park and asked the Park and Recreation Commissioners, City Council Members, Staff and emergency personnel to introduce themselves. After the introductions, Mr. Demant discussed the schedule for park improvements. Demant stated that the park had had some past issues of vandalism but there had not been any problems this summer. Commissioner Hilde agreed and stated it has been a great summer. Wright County Sheriff Deputy Eric Thole discussed some issues regarding Beaudry Meadows Park. The following issues were discussed:  Community involvement  Park Hours  Social Media ITEM 3.1 Deputy Thole stated residents should always call 911 and file a report if they see anything suspicious. He also stated that there had not been any complaints or calls recently and the park which is one of the busier parks in the city hadn’t had any vandalism or problems this summer. 6. Parks and Recreation Director Update. Parks and Recreation Director Demant updated the commissioners on Norin Landing, Lefebvre Creek and all the park and summer programs. Mr. Demant also asked the commissioners if they were willing to continue meeting at the parks. After discussion, the commissioners agreed to meet at Frankfort Park (5500 Randolph Ave NE) on August 15 at 6:30pm 7. City Council Reports. Mayor Jessica Stockamp updated the commissioners. 8. Adjourn. Commissioner Stark motioned to adjourn. Seconded by Commissioner Husak. All in favor. Motion carried. Adjourned at 7:10 P.M.
