1. Call to Order
Public Safety Commission Chair Chuck Schauss called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM.
Roll Call: Mayor Stockamp; Council Members: Jason Warehime
Public Safety Commissioners: Chuck Schauss, Bill Abderhalden, Jim Breitbach, Paul Fields, Deb
Schreiner, Elk River Fire Chief T. John Cunningham, Rogers Fire Chief Brad Feist, Ambulance
EMS, Wright County Sheriff.
Guest: Janet Harnack
2. Approve Agenda
Abderhalden moved to approve the Agenda, seconded by Breitbach. The motion carried
unanimously.
3. Approve 6-13-17 Meeting Minutes
Schauss moved to approve the June 13, 2017 Public Safety Commission Meeting minutes,
seconded by Abderhalden. The motion carried unanimously.
4. Open Forum
No matters were brought forward for discussion.
5. Public Safety Police / Fire / Ambulance Updates
a) Rogers Fire: A gas leak was reported. CenterPoint Energy was called to resolve the issue.
b) Elk River Fire:
• A call on June 12, 2017 was received regarding a malfunctioning washing
machine; otherwise, the month was fairly quiet.
• Wednesday, August 16, 2017 is graduation night for the Fire Academy. The event
will be held at Elk River Fire Station # 2 at 13073 Orono Parkway.
• Night to Unite will be held Tuesday, August 1, 2017.
• EMS: A second, full-time Emergency Response Vehicle will be operational by
mid-October.
c) Albertville: Absent
d) Wright County Sheriff: It has been a very busy month. There were two residential
burglaries. One was stopped in progress and three perpetrators were arrested. They are
not from this area.
6. Old Business
• CERT: Informational meeting with interested citizens follows this meeting.

7. New Business
• The City Council appointed Deb Schreiner as full member of the Public Safety
Commission due to two recent vacancies. She had previously served as an alternate.
• Vice Chair and Secretary Elections were conducted to fill recent vacancies. Bill
Abderhalden was elected Vice Chair, and Deb Schreiner was elected Secretary.
