City Staff recommend approval of Resolution 2017-79 Establishing Nashua Street (85th Street to 70th
Street), Resolution 2017-81 Establishing 80th Street (CSAH 19 to MacIver Avenue) and Resolution 2017-82
Revoking 70th Street (Oakwood Avenue to CSAH 19).

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
The long-awaited transfer of 701h Street to Wright County is in process. Wright County has requested State
Aid recognize it as CSAH 38. Therefore, the City must revoke the MSA designation of 70th Street allowing
CSAH 38 establishment. With the revocation of the mileage of 70th Street, MSA mileage is available to be
used on Nashua Avenue and 80th Street. We are requesting the establishment of those streets as MSA.
Attached are resolutions and a Municipal State Aid Map showing the proposed locations of the new
Municipal State Aid street.

RESOLUTION NO. 2017-79
RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING AND REVISING MUNICIPAL STATE AID STREETS
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of Otsego that the streets
hereinafter described should be designated, extended or shortened Municipal State Aid
Street(s) under the provisions of Minnesota law.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Otsego
that the roads described as follows, to -wit:
Nashua Avenue NE (from 85th Street NE to 70th Street NE)
be, and hereby established, located, and designated a Municipal State Aid Streets of said
City subject to the approval of the Commissioner of Transportation of the State of
Minnesota.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed
to forward two certified copies of this resolution to the Commissioner of Transportation for
his consideration, and that upon his approval of the designation of said roads or portions
thereof, that same be constructed, improved and maintained as a Municipal State Aid
Street of the City of Otsego.

RESOLUTION NO. 2017-81
RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING MUNICIPAL STATE AID STREETS
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of Otsego that the streets
hereinafter described should be designated or extended Municipal State Aid Street(s)
under the provisions of Minnesota law.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Otsego
that the roads described as follows, to -wit:
80th Street NE (from CSAH 19 NE to MacIver Avenue NE)
be, and hereby established, located, and designated a Municipal State Aid Streets of said
City subject to the approval of the Commissioner of Transportation of the State of
Minnesota.

RESOLUTION REVOKING MUNICIPAL STATE AID STREETS
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of Otsego that the streets
hereinafter described should be revoked as Municipal State Aid Street underthe provisions
of Minnesota law.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Otsego
that the roads described as follows, to -wit:
70th Street NE (from Oakwood Avenue NE to CSAH 19 (Wright County))
be, and hereby revoked as a Municipal State Aid Street of said City subject to the approval
of the Commissioner of Transportation of the State of Minnesota.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed
to forward two certified copies of this resolution to the Commissioner of Transportation for
consideration, and that upon the approval of the revocation of said roads or portions
thereof, that same be maintained as a County State Aid Highway of the County of Wright.
