Fleet CIP RatingsMEDIUM DUTY TRUCK RATINGS
Through several meetings staff have taken the first step to developing a rating system which would
provide a guideline when working on the CIP replacement schedule. The following are those criteria
and the corresponding rating system which the fleet maintenance staff follow when rating the
vehicles.
Age: Document the age of the vehicle.
Mileage: Document the mileage of the vehicle.
Maintenance Cost: This will be calculated by adding up all of the “non-routine” repairs throughout
the life of the vehicle.
Condition: A physical evaluation done on each vehicle annually. This inspection will be completed
by a fleet maintenance personal. Vehicle repairs needs and history such as accidents would be also
considered at this point.
Level of Use: Vehicles are assigned a level of use which directly correlates to the type of vehicle it
is.
